Acupuncture Acupuncture Acupuncture Acupuncture Acupuncture Acupuncture

Acupuncture

Acupuncture can be used in the TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) way and is a simple and safe way to ease the pain. Fine, single-use, sterile needles are inserted into the skin at precise points depending on your specific problem.

This process stimulates your body’s pain-relieving hormones and eases your pain. Many patients find this relaxing which in turn helps your recovery.

A western way is to use needles to treat “trigger points” in conjunction with manual therapy techniques for treatment of your condition.
The signs and symptoms of your condition will be assessed to determine the best type of treatment.
Most people respond best to a course of treatment, but as with all our services, you will be assessed individually to ensure the right approach for you.

Acupuncture is an ancient healing technique which is now well proven and widely accepted.
Acupuncture is available at all of our clinics

All Impact Physiotherapists who practice acupuncture are members of the AACP (Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists) and adhere to strict guidelines for safe practice.

Helping treat hand, finger, wrist and upper limb injuries.

Emma Bamford & Sarah Harlington, our accredited hand therapists, can help you return to a productive lifestyle following injury, disease or deformity affecting your hand.

The hand is one of the most complex parts of your body. The movement of the tendons, bones, tissues and nerves allows someone to grip and do a wide variety of complex jobs.

Following a hand injury, the hand may not function as it did before the injury due to loss of motion, dexterity, grip and ability to complete the simplest of tasks. In turn, this regularly results in loss of earnings. These patients require treatment in order to return them to work, social and sporting activities.

Sports Massage and Remedial Massage

Suitable for anybody, not just athletes, who enjoy a deep massage that makes you feel relaxed and invigorated. You might feel aches and pains from work related activities such as sitting at a computer for many hours at a time, or too much gardening.

Valued by both athletes and people who don’t play sport but feel aches and pains due to work related activities such as sitting at a computer for many hours at a time.

Soft Tissue techniques are incorporated such as Soft Tissue Release (STR) Neuromuscular Technique (NMT) and Muscle Energy Technique (MET). Even though sports massage and remedial massage are separate techniques they are commonly combined during a massage treatment for the desired outcome.

Massage can sometimes be uncomfortable, but is applied in a way that you will instinctively know is beneficial – you may be tender or stiff for 1 or 2 days after the sports massage but you will feel great!

There are many benefits from sports massage, both psychological (to the mind) and physiological (to the body) which have been reported based on experience and observation.
